Deer antler is naturally grown on male deer only. These antlers are naturally shed each year at the end of the breeding season. This shed antler will vary greatly in shape, size and colour, depending on breed and age. The centre core of the antler is a dry, softer, honeycomb like material, similar to marrow in bone, holding beneficial elements for dogs. One of the many advantages of the antler is that it will not splinter or snap like other bone material.
